I just wanted to let you know that I upgraded to 2.0.8 and the problem
went away. As a side note, I was able to compile the bridge against PHP
4.3.0, and all appears to be working well ... is there some hidden
reason why the documentation refers to PHP 4.3.2 as the oldest supported
PHP distribution?

PS: I still observe a performance degradation when running several
benchmarks in a row without restarting the JVM. Is there a suggested
strategy to avoid this effect in a production system? (I usually restart
such daemons at night, if at all possible, but would prefer not to).
