  we usually keep the libraries in the JavaBridge.war WEB-INF/lib folder, so that they can be accessed by JSP and PHP (we use Tomcat as the backend).
   
  I don't know if there's a specific problem with 3.0.7 (we use 3.0.8), loading libraries from a subdirectory of extension_dir\lib\ works on our system (extension_dir\lib\ doesn't, but that's documented).

I'm working with php-java-bridge-3.0.7a_j2ee on Windows XP with jdk1.5.0_10=
 and Apache 2.0.59. I have to move all my .jar files into the jdk's lib/ext=
 folder to get the Java Bridge to work. When I do this all the tests that c=
ome with the install work. The installation documentation indicates that th=
e jar files should be located in the php's ext/lib folder. Even if I put th=
e php's ext/lib folder in my classpath I still can't get Java Bridge workin=
g, for example, when I run phpinfo the java status is "not running". The pr=
oject I'm working on requires this older version of the php-java-bridge. An=
y tips would be appreciated.=0A=0A--Mark=0A=0A=0A =0A______________________=

I have tried factoring the cmd into parts.
phpize seems to work.
the configure command produces many very similar blocks like this:

cd . && /bin/sh ./config.status Makefile depfiles

with the checking statements continuing. Is this a problem? The command
completes with no summary error.

the 3rd and final command, make, quickly bails with the error on its

I just figured out my problem.

In my exception handler i was doing this:

System.out.println( "Exception: " + e.getMessage());
System.exit(0);

I was closing things down myself!

Hello,
I tried to generate a debian package from cvs tree, but it fails to compile
even from "normal" compilation.
It keeps recursively adding compiler flags until being manual abort.

./configure --with-java=/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun
--prefix=/home/temp/temp_sourceforge/php-java-bridge-3.2.1/debian/php-java-bridge

make

files for generating a debian package from sources to php-java-bridge-3.1.8.
It is intended for advanced debian users who knows how to compile a debian
package from sources.
Please, verify the build dependencies before starting.

Place the ungziped "debian" directory under php-java-bridge-3.1.8 directory.
     cd to the php-java-bridge-3.1.8 directory.
     phpize --clean
     debuild -rfakeroot -uc -us

Oops. The bridge is pure Java, so it cannot crash the
JVM. Are you sure that tomcat crashes (do you get a
core dump?) or are there some security restrictions or
memory limits which could terminate the JVM at some
point? Do you see an error log from the Java VM? Do
you have Security Enhanced Linux or a kernel with the
grsecurity patches? Are there any kernel messages?

We will fix the C implementation for version 3.2.1.

I am getting a gcc error when I execute the
phpize, configure etc command:

I configued java bridge when i use php5.13 and i can find it from phpinfo.

But now i use php5.2 and i can't find it.

I think Java Bridge is extension module , isn't it?

I'am new to this list and have some troubles with the
php-javabridge on an debian system with PHP 5.2.0 - CLI .

I have tested the PHP-JavaBridge 3.1.8 and the 3.2.1 (CVS - Version)

The standard test.php works well but if i try the swt-button.php i got an=20

[Php-java-bridge-users] Tomcat crashes on exceptions

I've successfully installed the php/java bridge. Great work guys!

I'm having a strange problem though. If I instantiate a Java object through
PHP (running through mod_php in the Apache process) and that java object
throws an exception at some point, Tomcat crashes. The catalina.out log file
says:

Exception: /home/vhosts/asdf/html/java/words2.dict (No such file or
directory)
Dec 2, 2006 4:32:34 PM org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11BaseProtocol pause
INFO: Pausing Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8080

The java server processes just die, with no real reason I can find in any of
the log files.

If i correct the path problem and no exception is thrown, everything
executes perfectly and the results I want get returned properly.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Hi,

this is probably a misunderstanding. Since PHP 5.2 no
java extension is necessary anymore. Everything
necessary is built into PHP 5.2.

Of course it is possible to compile a php_java.dll for
your operating system and your PHP ABI version. But
compiling an unnecessary extension module for each new
ABI version is a waste of time, imho.

I don't think so. phpinfo() only displays the
extension modules, and only those modules which have a
minfo() function.

i use newest xampp(with php 5.2) and download java bridge from site.

I don't think this is possible. The only archived
versions are 1.0.8, 2.0.8, 3.0.8, 3.1.8 and 3.2.1.
Why do you need this version?

However, you can always get the source directly from
the appropriate CVS trunc.
