[Php-java-bridge-users] Quick-start guide?

Is there a quick-start guide anywhere for a non-java developer?

I have a java product (tika) that needs to be accessed from PHP, and would like
to get something together as a test-case to show that this would be a way
forward. At the moment all the documentation assumes you are a java coder and
know what all the lingo means. Is there something that would take a non-java guy
through the steps of setting up the java project/application and talking to it
from PHP?
