Well, your GCC installation uses two different static
libraries for m32/64 but only one dynamic library. 
Depending on the processor architecture this may or
may not be a problem.  I have changed the message in
2.0.8RC5.

gcc4 should be able to compile the source. (other
distributions such as RedHat use gcc4 for a long time
now, so I don't think that this is an issue).
