Update planned (soon)

I'm now accepting feature requests for a major update. It will include, among other things, LDAP support, internationalization, and a new (more sane) database schema for the schedule. You can follow the project via the news on the main page and the bug tracker at http://www.php-ems-tools.com.

UPDATE

Here's the scoop: PHP EMS Tools is currently doing all that my own organization requires, so there won't be any more development at their request. I'm currently a full-time student and working 2 jobs, so I have precious little spare time.

I am MORE THAN HAPPY to develop new features as requested. However, despite 14 downloads this month and 22 last month (plus 5 downloads this month from my site), NOBODY has contacted me in the past few months to give any feedback or request features.... read more

Release 3.0 is out

Finally, version 3.0 of PHP EMS Tools is available.

The download can be found at http://www.php-ems-tools.com, along with a
new homepage design!

Please be advised that there have been major, sweeping changes. Rig
checks now have builtin capacity for multiple rigs, the roster has been
updated to allow for multiple, user-defined positions and
certifications, and more.

Please take the time to browse through the documentation on the site.... read more

Patch for bug in countHours.php

There was a minor error in countHours.php that caused intermittent incorrect calculation of members' hours. It has been fixed, and a patch has been released (it just provides new copies of countHours.php and /external/auth/countHours.php. A README.txt is included, just replace the old files with the new ones. Release on SourceForge is 2.0_Patch1.

Please note - this is for 2.0. If you are running release 1.0, please upgrade to 2.0. If you are new to PHP EMS Tools, you must download 2.0 first, then download 2.0_Patch1 and follow the instructions.... read more

2.0 is finally here!

Well, it's been a long time coming, but release 2.0 of PHP EMS Tools is finally here. It includes lots of bug fixes for 1.0 as well as loads of new features. There are still a few bugs as outlined in the README.txt included in the file, and the email notifications are not 100% yet, but those will be patched soon. Please be aware that the new version requires PHP5.

The file is avaiable for download using the link at the left. I prefer the SourceForge link over the local one, my bandwidth is a bit limited on a home connection. Please enjoy, and please e-mail me (or add to the trackers on sourceforge) any comments/suggestions/bugs/etc.... read more

Almost there...

Being a college student, I don't have as much time or money to devote to development as I'd like. Around January of this year, my development machine (and web server) became so heavily loaded that I couldn't do much active development on PHP EMS Tools, not to mention the fact that school is keeping me pretty busy, and I've had a whole slew of computer issues at Corps HQ to deal with. Adding to all of this, the Corps server is running PHP5, while my development machine was running PHP4 - so development only took place on weekends.... read more

Almost there...

I apologize for the delays in the release. I've been quite busy with work and school. Also, to complicate things, I've been having some issues with my development network at home. Furthremore, while my home servers are all based on PHP4, the production machine at the ambulance corps is running PHP5, so I had to do some minor (5 lines) code changes. Release 2 will be for PHP5, and I will also issue patched files for PHP4. Hopefully we will have a release in the next few weeks. At this point, the code is done, I just need to finish up some documentation and pack everything into an archive.... read more

Release 2 Pending

Release 2 will be here by the end of 2006. It adds support for user-defined shifts (still 2 per day, more in Release 3), many upgrades to the schedule, roster, hour counting, and roster fields for text message address, positions (officers), committee positions, etc. It may (depending on how much I get done) also be able to generate automatic text message (via email) alerts when a member signs on, covers another member, or whatever you want.

Release 1 is here!

Finally! Release 1 is here! At the moment, shifts are locked in at 0600-1800 and 1800-0600, but that should change soon! More to come in the next few weeks!

PS - Please drop me an email if you begin using this software, I am very eager to hear from users.

Work continuing - New Information

I am continuing work on the project, and expect a schedule/roster release in late October.

I will be posting a list of the dependencies/requirements soon. These include Apache, MySQL, PHP4, etc.

I am NOT planning on using SF's CVS system. If there are ay developers out there who would like it, I will begin uploading the major revisions to CVS.

Also, feel free to contact me with questions/comments/requests at jason AT php-ems-tools DOT com.

Preparation for release

I am currently in the process of coding the final parts of the scheduling module. It should be out by the end of October.

PLEASE feel free to contact me via email with feature requests on what your squad could use, especially in the way of scheduling. Currently I am planning to have a maximum of 6 people per day, selectable by day or as a default, in one crew of 6 or two crews of 3.
