I've added a section in the documention to describe usage if implicit functions and trigger (see documentation for 0.8.x, section 4.6) Dependend from your situation you have to write a module. Feel free to send a request, if you need some help.

I'm looking into integrating PHP-CMDB with some scripts that can keep CIs up to date. I think I can do this via trigger.php but I can't find any documentation on this. How to use the trigger.php page?
