I have installed the calendar in a virtual domain setup where the calendar works fine with one exception. It doesn¹t remember (or carry session information) about the port it¹s running on. For example it¹s running on port 8083 (www.domain.com:8083/) and of course I have another domain on port 80. When logging in or out, or adding and event... It looks for the files in the same directory but through port 80... Can someone point me to right part or code for this? I don¹t know php that well, but figure it¹s in the url match section somewhere... Thanks in advance. Chris |

For what it's worth to anyone reading this board, I fixed the ordering problem I described by changing the data-type for 'starttime' in 'phpc_events' from DATETIME to TIME. It doesn't seem to have broken anything, and now the ordering is correct. Michael Dunlap wrote: > Hello, > > First let me say I really like your calendar. Hello, First let me say I really like your calendar. There are some bugs I'm seeing though, both of which involve multi-day events: 1. When clicking on "Back to Calendar" it takes you to the first day of the multi-day event rather than the Calendar year/month you were viewing. If an event spans multiple months, this can be confusing (though certainly not a show-stopper.) 2. Events spanning multiple days do not order correctly with other events. If I make an event with start date 2007-01-01 5pm and an end date of 2007-01-02, then on the calendar day for 2007-01-02 the 5pm meeting shows up first - presumably because it started the day before. So you end up having on that day the first event starting at 5pm, and then an event happening at 8:30am, etc. I doubt there are work-arounds - is this something that can be fixed in the next release? Thanks, Michael |

Thank you, The first one was very clearly a mistake on my part and it has been fixed. I'm not sure where you came across it, but thank you. The second one, was a little bit more obscure, and I changed logout to not redirect you to the page you were previously on, and instead put you back at the main page. A better fix, I think would be to redirect from pages that you don't have permission to view to a more suitable page, but I've decided only to do maintenance to this version of the software, so I'm not going to add that feature. I will release 0.10.9 with these fixed when I think most of the other issues have been fixed. The changeds are in SVN. I've got this strange problem where on the 24th March where one event is coming up as spanning two days when is shouldn't and on the 25th March an event isn't appearing at all. Has anyone else seen this? It actually looks like the system is displaying the details for the 24th on the 25th. Here is a dump of the data. INSERT INTO `phpc_events` VALUES (498, 1, '2007-03-25', '2007-03-24', '06:00:00', 60, 2, '25th Only - All Day', '', '0'); # Not displayed! INSERT INTO `phpc_events` VALUES (505, 1, '2007-03-24', '2007-03-24', '06:00:00', 60, 2, '24th and 25th - All Day', '', '0'); # Displayed Ok INSERT INTO `phpc_events` VALUES (506, 1, '2007-03-24', '2007-03-24', '06:00:00', 60, 1, '24th - Normal Event', '', '0'); # Displayed as two days! I am using my modified version of the php-calendar v0.10.5. I haven't tested it on the unmodified version yet but as far as I can remember my mods were layout only no sql changes. Gabriel |

I created this problem myself. I had embedded the calendar into the theme of my web site. In order to do this I had to make several mods to index.php. Apparently I made a mod without checking the login/logout logic. Anyway it works again. The site is here if anyone is interested - http://www.ftsoft.org/cindex.php Frank |

I'm running under Fedora Core 5 with mysql. I installed 2 or 3 days ago and really like the calendar, but this afternoon I suddenly couldn't log in as admin. The log in screen hangs with "login in" and never comes back. I can do a back to calendar, but can't add events. If I enter an invalid login I DO get "invalid login". Any help would be appreciated. |

php-calendar/includes/event_form.php change the input to a select. php-calendar/includes/event_submit.php you're probably going to want to check that the value submitted matches one of the possibilities. php-calendar/includes/calendar.php or php-calendar/includes/globals.php (I forget if the last release has the globals.php or not) you're probably going to want to put an array in here for the other two files to use for their options so it's trivial to add new options and you avoid typos between the two copies. Best of luck, Sean On 2/27/07, p.dieperink <p.d...@ch...> wrote: > > In the add events form of the calendar I would like to change the subject > entry field from a standard text field to a drop-down select field. > This because I only have four standard subjects my users can choose from > > Can anybody help where I can change this > > > > > Peter Dieperink > in...@ch... > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Take Surveys. The problem I am having is mentioned in the documents but the solution didn= 't=20 solve my problem. When a user logs into the calendar it does not progress to a new screen but= if=20 the user clicks the back to calendar button the calendar is editable. I have set the "session.save_path" in config.php as per the suggestion in t= he=20 README document but that has not solved the problem. =A0 At present a user can login but has to click "Back to Calendar" to get to t= he=20 editable calendar page. Logging out works perfectly by the way. I am wondering if following login, the script calls for the calendar on the= =20 secure http port (443) rather than the usual port 80? I am not sure if my hosting provider has enabled a secure connection on our= =20 site or not. =20 Oddly enough the calendar works perfectly on my home Linux system with Apac= he=20 and mysql but not on the hosting providers (Windows) system. Do you have another suggestion of what the problem could be? Regards, Alan |

Your username and password for the calendar are created during installation. There should be a phpc_users table in your database. That will contain the username and an md5 hashed password. You can change the password with a command like UPDATE phpc_users SET password=md5('newpassword') WHERE username='your username' That might not be exactly it, but it's along those lines. Let's say I type "so & so" in the form. That is not valid HTML, so before I display it, I need to turn it into escaped characters. The result is "so & so." When this is displayed in the browser, it looks like how you intended. My suspicion is that your rich text widget also does this conversion. Now when put in "so & so" we get back "so & so" which is clearly unintended. You need to find out what you editor does and either change its behavior or change the behavior of PHP-Calendar. I would imagine that there would be some kind of setting for your widget where you could set which character set is being input and which character set should be output, but that may be out of the scope of the widget, especially if it is done purely in javascript. Hi, Sorry for the disgracefully slow response. I'm not sure what you mean by "instead of to the navbar." I think what you want is event_submit.php line 171 or so. header("Location: $phpc_script?action=display&id=$id"); get rid of the &id=$id part. Sorry for the delay. I'm not spending too much time working on the calendar, and I've redone the way events are stored for the next version so you can add specialty things like this without changing the database, or the code to retrieve them. Anyway, this might work fine, but you're offloading work to SQL that doesn't belong there. Your statement is going to turn out like: ...OR (eventtype = 7 AND ('Sat' != 'Sat' AND 'Sat' != 'Sun')) OR (eventtype = 8 AND ('Sat' = 'Sat' OR 'Sat' = 'Sun')... that does what you want, but it would be simpler to say: // find weekday/weekend events .(($dayofweek != 'Sat' && $dayofweek != 'Sun') ? "OR eventtype = 7" : "OR eventtype = 8"). // in the current calendar etc I haven't actually tested that, but it should work. Other than that little thing, nice job on the feature. I'm not going to merge it in, because the next version will have a similar capability (if I ever finish it), and I think it's too specific for the current version. I think the interface for adding events right now is awful. I don't want to make it any more confusing. Thanks, Sean On 6/5/06, Steve <the...@gm...> wrote: > > Hi. > I downloaded PHP Calendar for a way for my business partner and I to > communicate dates between eachother, but after playing with it for a > few minutes, I realized there wasnt a feature for weekend only and > weekday only events, and the TODO list requested it. Basically, I have more projects on my plate than I'm really interested in working on. I've done quite a bit of work on a new version of PHP-Calendar which is in CVS or SVN on SF (I don't remember which off-hand). Anyway, I'll try to get a new version of 0.10 out in the next couple of weeks to fix a couple issues and add new translations. Hi Chris, Although this is a superb project nothing has happened on it for a long while and the user system is one area that is not complete. I emailed the project owner recently and got no reply so I'm not sure if the project is still going. Regards, Gabriel PS you may be interested in a mod that I made for the calendar which makes it more colourful and compact. http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=14390512 On Mon, August 7, 2006 7:07 am, Chris Rodgers said: > I just downloaded and installed php-calendar (and adodb). > > > > The install went fine and I see the calendar. I just downloaded and installed php-calendar (and adodb). The install went fine and I see the calendar. I can log in as the initial user I set up and it had the capability to get into the Admin page and create new users. 1) I created a user, and that user can also get into the Admin page and create users. Is there a way to make a user that can add and edit events, but not change admin functions and add users? 2) What is the easiest way to play with the colors? The current colors are shades of grey, or something. 3) I have a site I wanted to put this in, but the site is mainly html with SSI html for the header, footer, and left navigation. The main content is in a div tag. How can I make the calendar show up in a page that looks like the rest of the site? The site is www.suncoastchorus.com <http://www.suncoastchorus.com/> - you can manually go to www.suncoastchorus.com/calendar to see the calendar. Do I need to code php to create the html in the other pages (including having php spit out #include commands that can be processed server side)? Is there a FAQ on setup and configuration? If not, should we start one? I am sure you folks already on this list would have many other things to put in the FAQ that might benefit me as I incorporate the calendar into this and other web sites. - Chris Chris Rodgers Ch...@Ro... |

Hi. I downloaded PHP Calendar for a way for my business partner and I to communicate dates between eachother, but after playing with it for a few minutes, I realized there wasnt a feature for weekend only and weekday only events, and the TODO list requested it. So I added to it after spending a good half hour navigating the code. This is my first code contrubution to any open source community, and it was a real quick fix. I modified two files. The first was globals.php starting on line 73. The definition for $event_types should read as follows: $event_types = array( 1 => _('Normal'), _('Full Day'), _('To Be Announced'), _('No Time'), _('Weekly'), _('Monthly'), _('Weekdays'), _('Weekends') ); The second file is calendar.php starting on line 264. The definition for function get_events_by_date() should read as follows: function get_events_by_date($day, $month, $year) { global $calendar_name, $db; /* event types: 1 - Normal event 2 - full day event 3 - unknown time event 4 - reserved 5 - weekly event 6 - monthly event 7 - weeday only 8 - weekend only */ $startdate = $db->SQLDate('Y-m-d', 'startdate'); $enddate = $db->SQLDate('Y-m-d', 'enddate'); $date = "DATE '" . date('Y-m-d', mktime(0, 0, 0, $month, $day, $year)) . "'"; $dayofweek = date("D", mktime(0, 0, 0, $month, $day, $year)); // day of week $dow_startdate = $db->SQLDate('w', 'startdate'); $dow_date = $db->SQLDate('w', $date); // day of month $dom_startdate = $db->SQLDate('d', 'startdate'); $dom_date = $db->SQLDate('d', $date); $query = 'SELECT * FROM '.SQL_PREFIX."events\n" ."WHERE $date >= $startdate AND $date <= $enddate\n" // find normal events ."AND (eventtype = 1 OR eventtype = 2 OR eventtype = 3 " ."OR eventtype = 4\n" // find weekly events ."OR (eventtype = 5 AND $dow_startdate = $dow_date)\n" // find monthly events ."OR (eventtype = 6 AND $dom_startdate = $dom_date)\n" // find weeday events ."OR (eventtype = 7 AND ('$dayofweek' != 'Sat' AND '$dayofweek' != 'Sun'))\n" // find weekend events ."OR (eventtype = 8 AND ('$dayofweek' = 'Sat' OR '$dayofweek' = 'Sun'))\n" .")\n" // in the current calendar ."AND calendar = '$calendar_name'\n" ."ORDER BY starttime"; $result = $db->Execute($query) or db_error(_('Error in get_events_by_date'), $query); return $result; } I hope this helps or, if I forgot something, someone can point out a bug or two. Thanks, Steve Massey |

I have just taken over managing the PHP-Calendar for a company that is using it. I am looking for a way to modify the code so that after adding or modifying an event, the user returns to the month's calendar display instead of to the navbar. So far I haven't had success. Has anyone tried this, or have any ideas?
