Not sure exactly what you mean, but you can specify max dimension size for thumbnails and slide show images using the thumbnail_max_dimension and slideshow_max_dimension web.config settings.

I works fine. It is NOT proportion that is the problem.
Maybe a resolution problem. I am trying to find out.
