Dear all, This is to inform you that we pushed to github the latests commits in phobos. This release is tagged 1.90.0. Here are the release notes of this 1.90: - Release 1.90 (Hi'iaka): 1.9x is the release cycle towards 2.0 - Phobos now runs a daemon (phobosd) on each IO node to manage devices and schedule IOs - Object and extent listing and filtering commands - Layout and family selection from (m)put command line - Split too large extents on multiple media - Port to RHEL/CentOS8 - Various fixes and refactoring For more details, see the git log: https://github.com/cea-hpc/phobos/commits/master Regards, Thomas |

Hi all, We updated today Phobos repositories on github. There are now 2 branches: - Branch "1.3" contains the latest stable production-ready version of phobos. This version includes the port to LTFS 2.4, that no longer requires the lin_tape driver. - Branch "master" contains the development version, including in-depth architectural changes to move towards a distributed version for v2.0. Hello Phobos community, This mail is to warn you the latest version of phobos available on git master branch is now working with the last version of LTFS (2.4). A major change is that specific "lin_tape" driver is no longer needed to access tape drives, as LTFS 2.4 now only relies on standard linux tape driver (st). This implies 2 changes for your current phobos installations: - lin_tape driver must be uninstalled - LTFS must be upgraded to version 2.4 You can find detailed information about installing LTFS 2.4 in the phobos README: https://github.com/cea-hpc/phobos/blob/master/doc/README.md#requirements-for-tape-access For your convenience, I attach to this mail a source RPM of LTFS 2.4.1.2, as well as the RPM built for x86_64 architectures.
