#45 mod_rewrite is enabled

Hello,
i was wondering if i was missing a step, cus im trying to install ph7 demo version to try it out first. i have some knowlegde of installing this cms systems. But its not that much. However, mij problem is that i'm running a home ubuntu server. to test al sorts of cms systems. it is accessable from outside and insite. but its telling me that mod_rewrite is not enabled. so i tryed to follow the steps given in the faq. first off all i could not find allowoverride in .htacces or i dont know where to put it.
could someone please give me the proper information to make this work ?
