I am using also XAMPP portable, and would really appreciate your help. Also, how can I change the collation? I write in Brazilian Portuguse (which would be Latin1, but if offers only another, Colombian.

The collation can you change making the cluster with the bat "Crear cluster.bat" or look this answer:
