#72 [symbolic coords] automatically add `tick distance =1` when symbolic coords are used?

Because today this question was asked on TeX.SX (again) I think it would be a good idea to add tick distance=1 automatically as well when symbolic coords are used/called. What do you think?

(I am pretty sure there are several more of these questions on TeX.SX, but I am not in the mood to search for them now.)
