Dear TikZ developers,
please consider switching to a modern versioning system, preferably GIT, but almost any other would be a lot easier to deal with.
There are a few volunteers like Aditya who sometimes contribute patches and we want to use a version more recent than the distributed version for ConTeXt. It would make our life easier by a huge factor if we could fetch the sources from git as opposed to CVS. Thank you.
I will look into this. The switch to SVN should be straighforward, git might be more trouble (it is not even installed in my system...). I will have to check this with the other developers.
Dear Developpers, I want to advocate this ticket too.
I know that passing from CSV to Git is not a small business.
But the benefits are big (not so much for you, but for the community ;)).
For example there are a lot of "small" "low priority" bugs, that could be fixed more easily if this project was hosted on github with a stable master branch (corresponding to the last official release) and a dev branch (corresponding to what is your current development work).
I have written a question on Meta.TeX.SX (not the right place to do it, I know) that is in relation with this ticket.
Thanks in advance for considering this feature.
I want to advocate this ticket too. GitHub is a great place to discuss about improvement of codes for community; it makes viewing codes online easier.
