Hi,

I think the fuel economy average should not consider all
data but rather the last 'n' tuples. (10-20)

Why is that?

I use the average to calculate how much fuel do I need
for a trip (don't we all?).

After a long highway drive (vacation ?) or tune-up or
engine rebuild or whatever, the fuel economy improves.
Or gets worse.

Therefore I'm not interested in "all time" average but
rather a "short term" average.

    Hi Claudiu,

At the bottom of the stat form there is a filter check mark that
    does almost what you want.

You can specify a range of date for the record to be considered.
Is this enough for you ?

The problem I can see is: the range is not saved. You will
have to reenter it every time. Is this why you are not using it.

I don't do that. There is enough gas station around here so
when I need gas I just take the next exit and full up.
Where do you live in the "Territoire du Nord-Ouest" ? ;-)

Finally this can still be interesting but will need a big
change If you still I want to the last n since I will need
to go from the last to the n instead of from the beginning
    to the end.

Whould it be enough to just save a date so you start from
    there up to the end.

There's another feature request to display the data in reverse
order. If you decide to implement that, then the "last n
tuples" is a breeze. :) Or, given m records, just skip m-n and
calculate from there :)) (I know this is poor coding...)
Anyway, I'll stick to 0.01.00 untill you merge the maintenance
    in the mainstream.

    thank you
    Claudiu

This is not really the same thing since a-b != b-a where a
and b are odometer value and a variable in the calculation
for the efficiency is "reset" at every "full tank" so I must
    go from
first to last. but the "skip m-n" is interesting.

Be carefull 0.01.xx is alpha for now but some people need to
use it so bugs can be found.
