Currently PFS3 is limited to maximum 2GB-1 byte files. Support for larger files should be added. It has been suggested that support for up to 4GB-2 bytes would be possible without major changes. However, this should be examined carefully: For instance what would happen if you try to mount filesystem with >2GB files with older PFS3 version?
The safest course of action would be to leave this change to PFS3-NG (or so) that would be incompatible with the older PFS3. This new PFS3 could also support >4GB files, which would probably be desirable anyway.
Notes:
- Currently at least MorphOS and AmigaOS4 have support for 64bit dospackets.
