I downloaded the release version of PerlQT, compiled and
installed it, without any problem. But when I tried executing
the examples (or anything that "use Qt;") , I get a
segmentation fault. Then I recompiled everything inluding
SMOKE and reinstalled, but with the same results.
I have RedHat 7.3 and all the prerequisite softare. If you
need more info drrop me a mail, and thank you for your
work.

Thanks but could you give me at least your e-mail ?
    I won't magically fix things if I can't even know what's
    going on ;)

Thank you for your nice comment on my special kind of
    cleverness.
    My email is drauber@t-online.de.
I have the same problem with that segmentation fault on a
    SuSE 8.0 system.
    KDE 3, Perl 5.6.1-156, qt3-3.0.3-15.
I discovered that there is still an qt2.3.2-138 version on
    the system.

    Thank you fo your help!

Dirk's problem was due to its Smoke library not being
installed in a standard place, which most probably boils
down to it's KDEDIR and QTDIR environment variables not
    being correctly set.

I'd bet Frederik's problem is the same, so you just need to
run configure again that way (after a make uninstall to
    remove the bogus install) :

    export QTDIR=/your/root/qt3/directory
    export KDE=/your/root/KDE3/directory
    ./configure

    or

    ./configure --prefix=/your/root/KDE3/directory
    --with-qt-dir=/your/root/qt3/directory

    G.

    I meant "export KDEDIR" here...
