Hi, That is a strange message, one I have not seen. It seems like something more indicative of sphinx's dealing with the audio channels than anything else. Maybe the listener, sphinx, install has become corrupted. Hmmm. This may seem like a hack way to do it, but I have posted a new version of perlbox on the sourceforge site, http://perlbox.sourceforge.net Maybe you could download and install that into a new directory, which will install the listener also. Test this new version. If it works, then you can tranfer your configuration from the old install to the new install just by moving the configuration directory from the old install to the new install, if you want. I am interested to see if this might solve the problem. At any rate, I am glad to know that you have been using perlbox, and thank you for informing me of this problem. I will look through the sphinx documentation to see if I can find a better solution.
