Based on the CVS usage, it seems that there has been no development since 1.2.0 was released. I'm thinking to fix / add a few things to perlbot, but I wouldn't want to start doing something someone else has already done.
So, if perlbot is still alive, could you please use CVS more actively? I mean you should update the CVS repository after every single bugfix/feature addition. That's what CVS is all about, IMHO.

Development is relatively stalled. There exists a 1.2.1 which we use, but which we have not released. I don't have time to muck about with CVS right now as we've moved on to other projects. Perhaps there will be a 1.2.1 release at some point. Perhaps not. We'll see.

Sorry, we really should be using CVS. I just released a 1.2.1 tarball yesterday, and I'll try to commit the changes into CVS soon. I haven't used CVS very much at all, but I would like very much to move perlbot development into CVS. I totally agree with what you said about CVS. :)

Is someone still developing perlbot?
