Ok I have had a look at gmane and the SourceForge docs. I can install  
a hook, which mails the commit notifications to somewhere (a mailing  
list is recommended).

All I need to do is appoint an email address.

So I will set up a mailing list (suggestions for names are welcome)  
at SourceForge and add this to gmane.

Any thoughts?
