As someone who came into this as never having done any Win32 work, this module has saved my bacon many times. First off, the site has all the needed information. It has a link to the module, and a link to this mailing list's archive. If you are unhappy that the examples didn't make enough sense for you, or you found reading the mailing list a problem, then what sort of programmer could you ever turn out to be. This module has made it quite nice to take my perl programming experiance in linux and turn out quality products for Win32. For me, I would just have to say Thanks Aldo, your work has made mine much better! Chris G. XMission Internet |

Not a lot out there. Typical Open Source nonsense. Dada's site really isn't worth much. Don't know why it is still there. =20 Sourceforge.net is good, since they maintane it & the best place as well for downloading the .665 Beta as it has quite a lot, examples and such. CPAN.org do a search for Win32-GUI, but they only have .558. The docs are really good though, but not complete. :-( LoL -----Original Message----- From: Rob [mailto:ro...@di...]=20 Sent: Wednesday, October 23, 2002 8:02 AM To: per...@li... Hope someone can help....=20 I have a window with a listbox... call it WINDOW-A I have another smaller window with two buttons... call it WINDOW-B ( it is basically a "Do you wish to print these items? Yes No " window ) If WINDOW-A is currently being displayed and some entries in the listbox are selected/highlighted, as soon as WINDOW-B is displayed, the "selected items" for WINDOW-A are gone/unselected. Therefore every time I display the "Do you wish to print these items?" window... the selected items are lost. Usually with this sort of thing I'd disable the window containing the button, eg $win->disable(); If $win is the window with the button in. You might also want to consider making the second window a dialogbox and setting its parent to the first window. From memory this stops the second window having an icon appear in the task bar. Anyone know how I can PREVENT a window from appearing more than once... for example: if I click on a button that displays a window....while that window is open, any other attempts to display the same window is ignored; including via menu. :) ------------------------------------------------------------ This e-mail may be privileged and/or confidential, and the sender does not waive any related rights and obligations. I was using $Window->Dialog() and it seemed to work fine, until I implemented Comboboxes. drop-down Comboboxes use their own windows, so if you have a drop-down Combobox in your $Window and you called $Window->Dialog, the drop-down box will not show at all (it will be blank and unresponsive to user input). so I stated that doing $Window->Dialog is wrong, because it produces undesiderable effects. however, if you are not using drop-down Comboboxes, this may be just what you want ;-) cheers, Aldo __END__ $_=q,just perl,,s, , another ,,s,$, hacker,,print; |

In version .665 it seems that when I change my tabstrip to use the -buttons property the events change. Here is what I'm doing: sub ::tsMain_Changing { print "changing"; print $win->tsMain->SelectedItem(); } sub ::tsMain_Click { print "clicked"; print $win->tsMain->SelectedItem(); } With the buttons property set to 1 this will output the following when I click on the 2nd tab (index 1): clicked0 changing0 With the buttons property set to 0: changing0 clicked1 I know that the docs say to use Change() and Changing() however it appears in .665 that the Change() even has been replaced with the Click() event. Change() appears to have no effect. Is there a reason that the clicked event gets called before changing with buttons enabled? Is there a way I can change this behavior? I have tried to use other click events to defeat this (tsMain_MouseDown etc) and nothing seems to work. Thanks, Michael |
