[perl-win32-gui-users] Send text to another program

I'm from the UNIX world so I don't even know where to start to find the
answer to this question, I guess here.

I'd like to have a windows program that a user types a code into, then it
sends other text into another program as if it had been typed on the
keyboard.  Is that possible?
