Probably would be OK. We already have a library of widgets in Java. If you want, I can tar up our code and send them out. They aren't perfect though and have grown over the last year of writing web apps with them in JSPs. The widget taglib is distinctly separate from the widget classes themselves so the widget code should be theoretically reusable.
