If you read the Net::LDAP manpage for 'bind', you should see that you need
to do this:
$ldap->bind(anonymous => 'ignored', version => 3);
Alternatively, this should also work:
$ldap = Net::LDAP->new('hostname', version => 3);
$ldap->bind();
