Is it possible to update the Directory with ldif file??

Hi,
I'm trying to download the data from a server using Net::LDIF package.
After that I need to modify the data in the ldif file and update another =
directory server with this data.
Is it possible to do so?? If anybody has done this before please let me =
know how to do this.

Basically, I'm pulling out all the data for some base on one server and =
dump it into an ldif file and then modify the dn information, then =
export this information on to another server.
