Never mind, I can't believe I did that.  I was doing $ldap->unbind();
immediately followed by $ldap->bind(anonymous=>1, version=>3);  So, duh,
I/O Error 'cuz the connection is gone.

Thanks anyway...I'm gonna go get more coffee...sheesh.
