Subject: LDAPv3 annoymous bind with perl-ldap-0.22?

How do I go about obtaining an LDAPv3 annonymous bind with
perl-ldao-0.22? If I use "bind( version => 3)", I get an
LDAP_INAPPROPRIATE_AUTH error message and the OpenLDAP (LDAPv3) debug
trace shows an LDAPv2 bind request. If I bind with a defined DN and
password I can obtain an LDAPv3 bind, but I don't want to have to fully
authenticate just to get an LDAPv3 bind.  Thank you.
