As a followup to my last post, I am using Netscape Directory Server 4.  In 
addition, I have tried a similar search on Active Directory.  Does 
something special have to be done to the server to get VLV support?  Is 
there a list somewhere of servers that do and don't have VLV support?

I am trying to implement LDAP capability in an application which may be 
used by customers with any number of different LDAP servers and 
configurations.  In its original form, my application was limited by the 
server limits set for a search, returning a maximum perhaps of 1000 or 2000 
entries.  I was trying to overcome this limit by using VLV.  Is there 
enough compatibility among various servers to even implement this right now?

Thanks again for all the help that has been given thus far.  I've been 
lurking on this list for awhile as well as searching its archives and it 
has been really helpful.
