A bug in Net::LDAP, try $mesg = $ldap->modify( "cn=".$group.",".$ldapbase, changes => [ replace => [ memberuid => [""] ], # change memberuids replace => [ description => [$desc] ] ] ); Note the [] around the values Graham.
