I don't know of a standards reference off the top of my head, but isn't there an X.500 facility whereby you can restrict the order in which object classes may occur in the heirarchy? (Structure rules? Something like that) Typically they require things like 'country' only at top level, 'org unit' only below 'org' etc. I'm pretty sure that: a) They are optional (i.e. servers need not implement them) b) only X.500 servers might care, and several (all? most?) won't care. Anyone care to refresh my memory? jb |
