perl-ldap hangs in $entry->shift_entry()

when I do
while (my $entry = $mesg->shift_entry())
{
   $entry->dump;
}

Net::LDAP hangs.

This is with Convert:ASN1 0.06 and Net::LDAP .18 on Solaris with Perl
5.004.

with both Netscape and Exchange
