I am not sure anyone has. I think I got sidetracked before I finished it.

You might be right, I did not think about that much when I wrote
it originally. However there maybe a need in future for it to return
dsml.

I am certainly not attached to the current code in any way, and as you have
pointed out it does not really work well. So feel free to make any changes
you like.
