Yes this is possible, but you have to know the value of C

In LDIF you can do

dn: your-dn-here
changetype: modify
delete: X
X: C
add: X
X: D

or directly in perl using Net::LDAP

$ldap->modify(
  dn => $dn,
  delete => [
    X => $C
  ],
  add => [
    X => $D
  ]
);
