Chiaheng,

This is a long overdue update to PerfSuite that you mention.  The last 
released version does not have the updates necessary for the Intel 
Core/Core 2 systems, but this will soon be addressed.  We are currently 
running and testing on NCSA's Clovertown cluster a pre-release version 
of the next release which will have support for these processors as well 
as AMD family k10.  The release will support PAPI running on either 
perfctr- or perfmon-2 patched systems.

So - the answer to your question is that PerfSuite 0.6.2a6 does not 
support these processors, but 0.6.2a7 will.  Apologies to all for the 
lengthy delay between releases, but a new one is at hand (as is a new 
release of PAPI, version 3.6).
