Redefine your service check command temporary to write the data $PERFDATA (and probably $HOSTNAME) in a logfile. Check if the performance data on your hpux box look strange. I'll try to explain this so it makes sense. ;) =20 I got the perfparsed pipe method installed and working, kind of anyways. =20 It generates graphs of some of my service checks but not all of them, at first I thought that this is the way it should work, not all of the gathered data can be viewed as graphs as default. =20 But then I got a little bit confused as one of the "check_disk" checks is displayed with graphs but not the other one. Both are collected using the "nrpe" agent but only one of them is displayed. =20 Here is the setup: =20 SERVER1:=20 - hpux 11.11 - Plugin: check_disk - "No Graph" - Plugin: check_icmp - "GRAPH" - NRPE =20 SERVER2: - RH Ent 3.0 AS - Plugin: check_disk - "GRAPH" - Plugin: check_icmp - "GRAPH" - NRPE =20 When I check the binary data graphs I only see graphs from server2 and not from server1. =20 I'm kind of stuck and hoping that someone out there have had the same problem and can guide me into the right direction. =20 Best regz, /Robban =20 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------- Roberth Steiner SJMVE CRMD IT-ISD - DBA, *NIX SysAdmin ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------- =20 |

Anyone have a working check_ping or check_icmp? I've tried all the ones I can find and googled like crazy. I'm new to perfparse and I'm not a c coder and it sure looks like the latest check_icmp outputs the data in the wrong format (keeps going into drop bin). Hi Christophe, This is a bug in the conception of Perfparse : it considers that low valu= es are OK and high values are critical. This bug has already been fixed in the parser. We need to fix it in the GUI too. If you need a fix soon, the best is probably to reverse the plugin value = and have "% used" instead of "% free". The specification states that 'warning' and 'critical' are always above the line. There is a more advanced option which allows the user to specify a range. But this is not fully supported in PP at the moment. It is planned. Hello. It seems that quite a few nagios plugins written in C set a type for the performance data, and return that. So if the plugin fails, the plugin might return 0.00 for a piece of performance data. How can perfparse handle this? I mean without perfparse assuming the value is correct, and drawing a critical area on the chart? Thanks |

Hi, Yes, I'm in the sunny old UK! The other guy (Jon) was having the problem with 8 hours, my graph's dates are a day out of sync somehow! If I select a range of dates (eg: 2005-10-25 00:00:01 -> 2005-11-02 23:59:59), it shows the dates on the graph from 25/10 to 01/11, but the partial data (ie: today's data), is shown on the 01/11 rather than 02/11. See: http://64.69.162.90/nagios/cgi-bin/perfgant.png?host=3Dwebsites&service=3D= ht tp%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Erutland%2Egov%2Euk%2F&from=3D2005%2F10%2F25+00%3A00%3A01= & to=3D2005%2F11%2F02+23%3A59%3A59 That graph should have data 2005-10-25 00:00:01 -> 2005-11-02 23:59:59, but the data that should be shown for today, is shown as yesterdays. The data is updated every 10mins so you can even see the graph for what should be today's data expanding. Hopefully that makes sense! If not, let me know and I'll have another go at explaining it! Can you give me more information. When you select an absolute time range, is the data you get back in the correct range, but the data relating to 8 hours ago. Or is the data 8 hours out from your date range, but otherwise correct? Sorry about that, MySQL is a bit slow on the deletion. If you run the deletion over night every night, then a days data deletes a bit better. You may want to trim it by a few days at a time over night and see how that goes...
