I changed the subject of the thread... Flo, can you define the default for new users in a way they have the mini= mum boxes and don't get confused with useless boxes ? Then they can add boxes with the = preferences. Maybe Keith can also make interesting comments on how to improve tiki-wik= i ? Maybe Keith can also give some help to make a better-looking web site (we= have www.perfparse.org and wiki.perfparse.org : isn't there one useless ? :) Why do some sites based on wikis (the best example I know is wikipedia) d= o have a nice look and why does wiki.perfparse.org look like a web portal ? :) Well, this is just my opinion, don't take it as more than my opinion :) Yves --=20 - Homepage - http://ymettier.free.fr - http://www.logicacmg.com - - GPG key - http://ymettier.free.fr/gpg.txt - - Maitretarot - http://www.nongnu.org/maitretarot/ - - Perfparse - http://www.perfparse.org/ - |

So you'll have to stick with tikiwiki :-) But constructively: once registered to the wiki, you can unassign the modules (boxes) at the left and right bar and then the wiki gets more simple looking. Hi I've written a check_sensor Nagios plugin that returns performance data for lm_sensors (e.g., fan speeds, temperatures, voltages). I'm just testing it at the moment, and it works fine if the label does not have embedded spaces. However, if there are embedded spaces then no graph is plotted. A simple example - the following is returned, but no graph appears: SENSOR OK: M/B Temp value is 44|'M/B Temp'=44;;;; That seems to be valid performance data according to http://nagiosplug.sourceforge.net/developer-guidelines.html#AEN142, but if it's not please correct me. Otherwise this would appear to be a bug in PerfParse. I'm using Nagios 1.2 and PerfParse V0.105.6. Thanks Keith |

Hi, I've a question. When I go to the perfparse link on my nagios webinterface I see everything from my hosts and services. Now I recognized that there ale some services are marked red. In my opinion this is when the service is critial. But some services are everytime red marked. For example it is the output of the check_ftp plugin. I've searche for the reson and see that for the services, which are marked red are no warnings and criticals are definied in nagios. Can it happen that this is the reason why the are always red marked.. Because only this for which this is not defined, they are red. Has anybody recognized this too??? -- Weitersagen: GMX DSL-Flatrates mit Tempo-Garantie! Ab 4,99 Euro/Monat: http://www.gmx.net/de/go/dsl |

You should use the option "--with-glib12=3D/opt/gnome/bin" to use /opt/gn= ome/bin/glib-config PP relies on glib2. This is the default behaviour. And it supposes that p= kgconfig is in a standard place and that "pkgconfig glib-2 --cflags..." (or something si= milar) returns correct stuff. If you don't have pkgconfig in a standard place, change your $PATH, maybe $LD_LIBRARY_PATH, and $PKG_CONFIG_PATH and it should work (check the pkgc= onfig manual for more info about $PKG_CONFIG_PATH). This is what I do myself. If pkgconfig does not answer what you are expecting, this is a problem in= the installation of either pkgconfig or the glib-devel packages you installed= . If you want to force glib-1.2, use --with-glib12. If you don't manage to have pkgconfig answer correct things, you have to = force, and the only thing to force is glib-1.2. Hi, I think there is a way... But I don't know in which way it is to realize. The should be a script which has two states, up and down. So it must be the states like in nagios (I don't know why they looks like at the moment). This scripts should create a value like 0 for down and 1 for up. This script should produce perfdata. So when you host is up you get a 1 when it is down you get a 0. Then you have a graph. But I don't know how this script should looks like and if this idea works... > --- Ursprüngliche Nachricht --- > Von: Ben Clewett <bcl...@pe...> > An: Sand Philipp <Phi...@sy...> > Kopie: per...@li... > Betreff: Re: [Perfparse-users] Scheduled Downtime in perfparse db > Datum: Mon, 23 May 2005 09:23:59 +0100 > > Philipp, > > PP will import data if Nagios exports data. > > Nagios will only export data is it collects data. Philipp, PP will import data if Nagios exports data. Nagios will only export data is it collects data. This does not happen when a service is marked as down. There may be a way by entering passive checks in Nagios, but I have never tried this?? Hi List! I installed PP 0.106.6 with method#3. I set my cron to run my script (which was suggested int he PP install guide). But when perfparse-log2mysql is run, it produces output about each line which it analyzes. About this output, cron send me an e-mail. I can suppress this in a way to redirect my script's outout to /dev/null, but I think it would be better if I can disable this behavior somehow. Is it possible? Thanks in advance, Tamas! |

Hi List! I installed PP 0.105.6 with method#3. I have Nagios 1.2 on Debian Woody 3.1. I think I did everything which were in the documentation. I dig in the FAQ about this issue and did what it suggested (remove ' from illegal_macro_output_chars directive). I have no data in my DBS. I have some questions: 1. There are some directive (fe: Error_Log_Rotate = "Y"), for which the pattern before it suggests "Y" or "N". However in the original example cfg file their values are "no" or "yes". Which are the correct? 2. I don't know exactly how to interpret the No_Raw_Data and the No_Bin_Data directives. I think if their values are "N" then raw and binary data is written to the database. Is it correct? 3. How can I interpret the History_Start_Tm = "-86400" and the History_End_Tm = "-30" directives? I found that when I run "perfdata-log2mysql --show_config" command there would be an entry int he Error_Log file, which says: mysql module successfully loaded. But no data in my DBS. It seems to me, that Nagios does not run process-service-perfdata command. I inlcuded my perfdata.cfg - it was created with the "perfdata-log2mysql --show_config" command. Any help, suggestion would be appreciated. Thanky in advance! I am SUSE my self, which may help I am not sure. It works for me out-the-box, but I am not sure if I hacked my OS to get it this way :) I think maybe your may be off the path. If you enter $ which glib-config Is it found? Can you run it? You may try: $ export PATH=${PATH}:/opt/gnome/bin/ If not. You may try this variant: --with-glib_config_dir=/opt/gnome/bin Hope this is some help, wil son wrote: > I have a file glib-config in /opt/gnome/bin/ > But when i compile > --with-glib_config_dir0/opt/gnome/bin/glib-config > there ist still the error. > I have installed glib-devel-1.2... > --- Flo Gleixner <fl...@bi...> schrieb: > > >> >>You need a program who's name is glib-config.
