Hi Barry.

You must specify a mark path in order for the script to run.

Eg:
Service_Log_Position_Mark_Path =    "/usr/local/nagios/etc/"

I do not know why your script is not running.  When you run 
perfparse-log2db -s -r you should get an output:

00:00:01 read 14 @ 0.0 l/sec.  Met 13 @ 0.93 Met/l.  Drop 0.

If this is not the case something is wrong.  Otherwise you may just have 
a very large log file.  Can you tell me how many lines in your log file?
