The file you need to change is the actual check_icmp file in =
/usr/local/nagios/libexec
The command to run would be
chmod u+s /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_icmp
Please try and find out some more info about setting root priviledges on =
files just so you understand the security implications.

Check_icmp has to run with root privilledges so you need to chmod the =
file to inherit the privilledges of the root user while running then =
release them again after execution.=20
