The only other thing that I can think of is that maybe it IS a problem
with the check_ifstatus plugin. Instead of using the plugin that you
edited, apply the patch that I sent to the list a few hours ago, and
give that a shot. It's working fine on my system.
Make sure the patch is applied to the original plugin, not the one
that's giving you headaches.
