Duplicates means same attribute with same value. However, there was a problem with aliases. If two umasks were aliases of each other, they would pass the test, and thus the event string would be validated. Although this was legal, it turned out to be confusing (unless the fully qualified event string was used). To simplify the logic and avoid confusing event strings, the function now reject all duplicates regardless of their values.
