Greetings!
First of all, I'm glad to see that someone is
continuing to maintain PERCEPS. I think it's a
dynamite tool!
In my usings of it, I've found some small bugs
that arise in obscure situations. I've fixed one
major one that I've found, but I would like to
know if you've solved the other ones before I go
ahead and reinvent the wheel (so to speak).
BUG 1: an error in a regular expression search and
replace regarding an overloaded operator[]
function. STATUS: fixed. LOCATION: the fix is in
the perceps-351.pl file I've sent you.
BUG 2: duplicate constructors. If you specify
several constructors that are 'similar', PERCEPS
prints out only the last constructor that it
finds, instead of the other ones. Basically you
get a list of duplicate constructors. STATUS:
pending.
BUG 3: inline functions and default parameter
initialization. This one is really obscure!! If
you have a constructor that has one of its
parameters defaulting to something like
Class::DEFAULT_VALUE, and then following that
constructor somewhere in the header you have an
inline function, PERCEPS ditches a whole lot of
member functions. This one is the strangest and
would seem to me to be the hardest to solve.
STATUS: pending.
The best way to see what I mean with these errors
is to view the PERCEPS online documentation that I
created with the example (bugged) source files.
Please get back to me if you would like be to try
to fix these problems (I know I should have and
just sent you the fixes, but I wanted to make sure
that you havn't already done them ;-). I might be
able to spend some time on it in my already busy
schedule.
I've attached a zip file containing the makefile
I've used to create the documentation, all of the
templates, and all of the sample include (*.h)
files. As well, I've already included the
generated PERCEPS html documentation. The
makefile by default attempts to make the
documentation with perceps-350.pl, but that will
fail. You will have to use 'make new' to use the
perceps-351.pl file.
Christiaan.
