#52 CDR P.E.Op.S. Will not work with External CDROM

Just as the summary states, I have a plextor external
cd/dvd rom & P.E.Op.S, nor any other Cdr I have
noticed work with my external. It's ran 1394... This is a
bammer because my external is better than my internal.
Is there a fix for this or some way to configure it to read
it?
