A new release is available. The release numbers has gone backwards to 0.1.0. This is beta software and is being numbered as such. The release number will work up to 1.0.0 when it is ready for widespread use.

The new version is more feature complete than the last, and has many bug fixes. See geckosoftware.org/issues for the new features and bug fixes. See geckosoftware.org/wiki for some new documentation.

Gecko Software is the company that provides the funding for the development of this framework.

When the Penny Accounting Framework project was first established, we wanted to separate the commercial and open source efforts, and so gave it a distinctly different name. This has not worked. The good reputation of Gecko Software has been lost with the name change.

In addition, we have decided to open source accounting software built on the framework, in addition to the framework itself. For this reason we have changed the name of the project to Gecko Accounting. ... read more

"startview" is a small plugin that provides a tree-structured menu. The menu allows other views and editors to be started. It is part of the Penny Accounting Framework, but can run stand-alone.

The first release is code complete, but lacking some documentation.
