#69 IDL routine does not seem to find it's own routines

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install pencil and idl
2. Perform a test run
3. Try to view data using IDL as described in section 5.19.4 of the manual

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Entering ".run ts" into IDL produces the output:
IDL> .run ts

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
IDL version 8.0, Scientific Linux 6
