Dear Shane,
I'm Sumeyye. I work as a medical doctor at Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
First of all, “PEBL: I would like to thank you for creating The Psychology Experiment Building Language” program and sharing it with us so generously. I would like to use this program for a study. I would like to ask you a few questions to better interpret the study data. The executive function tests I plan to use and the executive functions I plan to evaluate are as follows:
Trail MakingTest - Processing Speed, Set Shifting (ptrails)
2nd Wisconsin Card - Set shifting (bcst)
Continuous Performance Test - Vigilance, RT, Response inhibition (pcpt)
Stroop - Interference control (stroop)
Tower of London - Planning (tol) (especially subtest #1)
N-Back - Working Memory (nback)
First of all, what did you use to create the outputs of the executive function tests?
For example, there are 12 different outputs for Wisconsin Card. There are 10 different outputs for the Continuous Performance Test. When I do not use the N-Back test as dual, there are still 18 different outputs. When I examined the references in the table you mentioned in your “ Mueller, S. T., & Piper, B. J. (2014). The Psychology Experiment Building Language (PEBL) and PEBL Test Battery. Journal of neuroscience methods, 222, 250–259.” article, unfortunately, I could not find how we can access these outputs.
Secondly, where can I get information on how to interpret these outputs and how can I access reference articles, if any?
PEBL seems to be able to provide unique outputs thanks to the infrastructure you have developed. It has a very rich content compared to the outputs obtained from the same executive function tests used in other articles. While this increased the quality of the study I will be using, it caused me a lot of difficulty in the interpretation part.
Hoping for your response.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Sumeyye
