Install 64 bit Peazip 6.2. Create zip file containing multiple files. Encrypt the file with a password. Zip created, all files show an asterisk. close file. Open zip file. Add a new file to the zip file. Newly added file does not show the asterisk and it is not encrypted. Uninstall 64 bit Peazip. Install 32bit Peazip 6.2. Do the same test. The newly added file will show the asterisk, will be encrypted and will require the password to unencrypt or view the file. I believe there may be an issue with adding and encrypting files in the 64 bit version of Peazip. Thank you.

Can you please re-test the issue?

I've verified on my test machines both 32 and 64 bit version of PeaZip shows the same, expected, behavior: adding new content to an existing encrypted archive results with new files being unencrypted, if a password is not entered for the new operation - closing PeaZip and re-opening it will empty the password field, as can be seen from the locker icon in its status bar.

This may seem counterintuitive, but ZIP (and 7Z) format handle encryption at level of single archived files, so one can create an archive with a password, add content with different password(s), and even add unencrypted content (not providing a password for the operation).
Extraction will then require providing the password for the content that is intended to be selectively retrieved.

If 7Z format is used with “Encrypt also filenames” option checked, no operation can take place without providing the password (the archive table of content is unreadable without), so users are “forced” to note they are working on an encrypted archive. This option is not available to ZIP format.

Please let me know if you can replicate the problem so I can look further in the issue.

OK. I cannot reliably reproduce this behavior. I am going to blame it on User error, mine. I will read up on the help files, faqs, etc. Try to get some more experience with this app. ( Which works very well by the way !! I'm just having trouble with 'refreshing' files and encrypting files. More practice needed I guess. Very sorry for the probable false alarm !!!!
