I tried modifying a copy of the 'ppccfg.example' configuration file as you suggested. I changed it as follows: I left the BOOTMETHOD with its default value of "auto" Changed the entries for master and slave as shown below pci=5Fide0=5Fmaster=5Finstalled =3D 1 pci=5Fide0=5Fmaster=5Fimage =3D "D:\Mac=5FOS=5FX=5FEmulation\PearPC\pearpc-3gib.img" pci=5Fide0=5Fmaster=5Ftype =3D "hd" pci=5Fide0=5Fslave=5Finstalled =3D 1 pci=5Fide0=5Fslave=5Fimage =3D "D:\Mac=5FOS=5FX=5FEmulation\PearPC\Panther1= .iso" pci=5Fide0=5Fslave=5Ftype =3D "hd" The Mac OS system ISO files are on the 'D' Drive of my second (non-bootable) harddrive in the PearPC folder as shown above. This being the case the value for 'pci=5Fide0=5Fslave=5Ftype' I changed from 'cdrom' to 'hd' for harddrive, the same as is for 'pci=5Fide0=5Fmaster=5Ftype'. On running PearPC 'ppc.exe' in a dos/commandline box I get the same error as I was getting previously when running under PearPC Control Panel using the 6 GByte image file relating to the file size not being a multiple of 516096. *AuthenticAMD CMOV MMX SSE [Display/SDL]: Making new window 1024 x 768 [IO/IDE] <Error> invalid format (file size isn't a multiple of 516096) *** I have been told that the reason for the de-compressed image files 'pearpc-3gib.img', and 'pearpc-6gib.img', appearing not to be the correct size is probably down to the fact the files have been expanded on a PC with FAT32, rather than the NTFS file system. They have said the files will not display the same file size as they would if they were on a NTFS file system. Though my PC has Windows XP Professional as it main operating system, I am still using FAT32. I have the Linux 'SUSE' as a second operating system on the machine that can dual boot with Windows XP. At one time I also had Windows 98 dual booting as well and used the bootmanager program from PowerQuest called 'BootMagic'. Bootmagic was required to be on a FAT32 system and on the main bootable partition, the 'C' Drive to work. Since then I no-longer have Windows 98 on the machine and am using the bootmanager 'GRUB' that came with Linux 'SUSE' 9.1. I want to convert the harddrives to the NTFS system, but have been reluctant up until now for fear of messing up the dual boot arrangement and the Linux installation in the conversion. Once converted there is no going back. If I convert one harddrive I will probably have to convert them all. Though a FAT32 can be read from a NTFS formatted drive, I don't think a NTFS drive can be accessed from a FAT32 drive. If the answer to the installation of the Mac OS X operating system on a PC under emulation using PearPC as the emulator is that the file system needs to be NTFS, then I will have to convert it. You mention about re-formatting the harddrive. At the moment the 'D' Drive is as a single 80 GByte partition, with the PearPC folder to hold the Mac Operating System being a file on that single partition. I don't wish to have to format the whole drive, as there are a number of other PC applications on it, which I would not wish to disturb. Would you suggest I create a second 3 GByte non-bootable second partition on the 'D' drive purely to contain the folder 'PearPC' and where the Mac will run from? I could format this partition as NTFS. Any FAT32 drive would not require accessing it as it will purely be the Mac Operating system. I assume Windows 'File Manager' will show the NTFS partition and allow PearPC to be run from? In regards being prompted for the 2nd & 3rd CD, and then replacing the "pci=5Fide0=5Fslave=5Fimage" with your Panther2.iso & Panther3.iso respectively, which you say will require you to manually quit your PearPC to do this. I assume by this that having installed the first Mac Installation ISO Image (of the three Mac installation disks), stopping PearPC to edit the PearPC configuration file 'panther.cfg', on restarting PearPC, the Installation of the Mac Operating System will continue from where it left-off as if nothing had happened. Again the installation will continue from where it was stopped after changing the configure file to point to the third 'ISO' image. I have the Mac Operating ISO image files on the harddisk not on a CD-ROM as you suggested. I assume as long as the path in the configuration files is pointing to the correct location of the files it doesn't matter if the files are on the harddrive or a CD-ROM.
