Pearl Surf was designed to run from a usb thumb drive made the the Ubuntu USB-Creator. We included all you need to start browsing with Chromium and Thunderbird for an email client. Also included for added multimedia functions is Clementine, Banshee and totem.
I decided that I was not looking to have the fastest loading live OS as from what I see is all anyone is concerned about, but to acually take a full minute maybe even 1.5 to load and have a decent OS to work with.
It loads very fast on many types of systems we check our systems on from net books to all brands of desktops.
This is also a great system for you to add software of your choosing for your own custom built system.
Ubuntu Software Center is installed for you to add to this lightweight release of Pearl.
Java and Flash support built in.

awesome!!!!i was blown away by the imagery and installed it replacing my elementary os... great eye candy too.. fast, easy, and totally AWESOME.. although i had some trouble (still do) with the key ring password..that is actually the one thing that kept me from giving a 5star rating.. any input from the makers will be deeply appreciated... btw, im a linux user for only 6months so please, go easy on me.. :-)
