#1 Support gzip with PDV

Hi Glen!

We needed PDV to support tarballs that were packed with
gzip. Under Linux you are very likely to find gzip
installed but not necessarily compress. Thus a
compressed tarball might fail unpacking. I attached a
modified version of PDV which supports unpacking of
gzip'ed tarballs.

It's not a patch, but the changed source tree. Sorry
about that.
