It would be nice if there were a 'demo plplot' or two
corresponding to the existing pgplot ones. A direct
translation from the pgplot demos could probably
be done. Having the demos would support the move
to PLplot as the standard 2D plotting package for PDL.

Simplest way to start would be to cut and paste the
PLplot demo code from the perl examples on the
    PLplot web site:

    http://plplot.sourceforge.net/examples.php

The example code is also distributed with the
    PLplot source distribution.

With the waning of PGPLOT as a viable graphics option for PDL users due to lack of availability and even buildability, it would be nice if the existing demo and tutorial frameworks could be adapted to support alternatives such as PDL::Graphics::Prima and PDL::Graphics::Gnuplot.

Lowering priority since we do have demos for PDL::Graphics::Prima and PDL::Graphics::Gnuplot. If the latest PLPlot release from sourceforge can get PDL::Graphics::PLPlot working then a demo for that would let us close this request ticket.
