Those experiencing difficulties getting this to work in El Capitan might like to try RWTS PDFwriter. RWTS PDFwriter is closely based on Lisanet PDFwriter, but avoids the sandboxing restrictions on print drivers introduced in El Capitan, and also provides automatic configuration of the printer driver to simplify installation.

I also have this difficulty with El Capitan and installed RWTS PDF Writer (after I already installed Lisanet without any printing result). When I printed using it I didn't see anything and don't know if it actually printed. I am not used to the terminal and don't know how to find the directory /Users/Shared/PDFwriter/<your user="" name=""> with Finder. I only see my own User account in Finder.
How could I find out if something is printed or nothing happened?

Here are three ways you can find it.

    1. In Finder's Go menu, choose Go to Folder. Type /Users/Shared in the box that comes up and press Go. In the Window that opens, you'll see a folder called PDFwriter. Inside it there will be a folder with your username that contains your printed files. [This is also how both Lisanet PDFWriter and RWTS PDFWriter work].
    2. Simply type "Shared" in the usual search field. The folder entry Shared - (your user name) will be the Folder you want.
    3. In Finder's Go menu, choose the Computer menu item. In the window that opens, choose your Hard Disk (probably Macintosh HD). Inside that, choose the Users folder. Inside that choose the Shared folder. Now choose the PDFWriter folder and finally the folder with your username.
